Beginning personal training for the first time can feel intimidating, especially if you’re unsure what to expect. Our trial personal training session is designed to help you feel comfortable, supported, and confident while giving our coaches a clear understanding of your movement, experience level, and goals. Here are some frequently asked questions you may have before your first session.
What happens during a trial personal training session?
Your first session will include a series of foundational movement patterns and a short, introductory workout. The session will not be overly strenuous.
Your trainer will be observing:
Movement quality and coordination
Any imbalances or limitations that may need attention
Your current strength and ability level
This information helps us create a training approach that’s safe, effective, and actually makes sense for your body.
How hard will the workout be?
The intensity of the session is individualized and adjusted based on your comfort level and experience. The goal is not to push you to exhaustion, but to ensure you feel confident and supported while we assess how you move.
Do I need to be in shape before starting personal training?
No. Our clients begin personal training at many different stages. Some are new to exercising, while others are returning after time away. The trial session is designed to meet you where you are and progress at a pace that makes sense for you.
What should I wear to my trial session?
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for unrestricted movement, such as: Leggings, pants, or shorts, a t-shirt or athletic top, and athletic shoes. Comfort and mobility are the priority. No specialized equipment is required.

What if I have an injury or physical limitation?
We encourage you to share any injuries, limitations, or concerns with your trainer prior to or during your session. All exercises can be modified as needed, and your safety is always our priority.
Will I be sore after the trial session?
While everyone responds differently to exercise, the trial session is intentionally designed to minimize excessive soreness. Any post-session muscle fatigue should be mild and temporary.
What happens after the trial session?
Following your session, your trainer will review their observations, answer any questions, and discuss recommended next steps. There is no obligation to continue! Our goal is to help you determine whether personal training is the right fit for you.
Is there any obligation after the trial session?
No. The trial session is simply an opportunity to experience our coaching style, ask questions, and decide if personal training is right for you. There is no pressure to commit,
and we’re happy to walk through options only if you’d like to continue.
